Competition

Competition is a major and fun part of the barbershop world that helps keep us focused on raising the bar of performing excellence. We come together in a spirit of lighthearted contest, to see who's really in top form. We root for each other, cheer each other on, and once the medals have been handed out, we sing and party into the night!

Regional

We are part of Sequoia-Pacifica Region 11. Every year in March or April, Verdugo Hills Showtime Chorus makes the trip to Bakersfield, CA to compete in our Regional Competition. Dozens of choruses and quartets come together to sing and compete. Contestants are judged in four categories: Music, Sound, Expression and Showmanship.  Each brings its finest performance to the stage. International

In the fall, the winners of all regional contests, plus five wildcard choruses, compete in International competition.  Wildcard choruses are comprised of those that achieved the highest ranking second place scores in their regional contest in comparison to all second place scoring choruses in all regions.   The 2013 International Convention and Competition will be held November 5 - 9  in Honolulu, Hawaii.
